Purpose
The main purpose of the Forest Lakes Fire Department Auxiliary is to
raise money for our fire department. We raise money by sponsoring ice
cream socials, a chili cook-off and by working with FLOA to sponsor the
July 4th picnic and the pancake breakfasts. We would like to invite all
Forest Lakes residents to join the Auxiliary. Our dues are $6 per person
or $10 for a family membership. The organization is open to male and
female.
Meetings
Our meetings are held the third Saturday of
each month at 9:00, March through October, at the Fire Station. We
welcome new faces and new ideas.

Pictures Needed
The Forest Lakes Fire Department Auxiliary is also looking for
pictures to include in their auxiliary scrapbook. If you have pictures
of events that have occurred over the past years please send them to the
above address but to the attention of Jeannie Shultz, Historian or drop
them off at the fire station

Picnic
Cook Book
We are in the beginning stages of putting
together a second Forest Lakes Cookbook. We will focus on specialized
areas such as cooking for two, light cooking, high elevation cooking,
microwave cooking, quick meals, canning, and a household tips section.
We have a committee formed but would welcome a few additional members
who would be interested in helping with this exciting project. We will
be placing blank recipe forms and drop boxes throughout Forest Lakes so
please be on the lookout for them this summer. You can also e-mail
recipes to Diane Mitchell at sundevil@primenet.com , drop them
off at the fire station, or mail them to FLFD Auxiliary, P.O. Box 2015,
Forest Lakes, AZ 85931. If your recipe is adapted for high elevation
cooking please be sure to make a note of that.
NUMBER LOT SIGNS
We will be ordering numbered lot signs several
times this summer. If you gave us your name last year you will be
contacted by phone. We will also take orders at community events
throughout the summer. Prepayment will be necessary. Two numbered signs
will be $16 and three numbered signs $20. You will receive the numbers,
a T-post and bolts.
Chuckwagon
We are looking for someone who can put together some specs for a
chuckwagon which we can use in emergency situations to prepare food for
our firefighters. If you have some expertise in this area and would like
to help please contact Diane Mitchell at (928) 535-9200. Any assistance
would be greatly appreciated.
