Burn Pit

The 'old' burn pit is no longer open

The Fire Board and Forest Service have agreed on the use of a temporary burn pit area.

The brush pit is located about two and a half miles west of Forest Lakes, north of Highway 260.  Dumping will be permitted Tuesday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The permit for use of this pit expires May 2004.

Compactor

The compactor is no longer open!

On December 29, 2003 The Forest Transfer Station was permanently closed.  The Forest Lakes Citizens Advisory Committee made a sincere effort to provide adequate funding for the continued operation of the transfer station, however, they were unsuccessful.

Three waste vendors are currently offering curbside waste collection service for residents living in the Forest Lakes area.
