The
Coconino
County Sheriff Department's main office is located in Flagstaff,
Arizona. Coconino County is the second largest county in the United
States, encompassing approximately 18,600 square miles. The Forest Lakes
sub-station is responsible for patrolling and investigating crime in an
area of 500 square miles.
Although Forest Lakes is the only consistent population, the Forest
Service estimates a visitor population of 25,000 people in the surrounding
area on high impact weekends. The Forest Lakes sub-station is operated by
one deputy with the Forest Lakes Fire Department as the office. Some of
the responsibilities of this district include:
New Reserve Officer
Coconino County Reserve Officer, Bill Walter, is now fully trained and is available for calls in the Forest Lakes area. Bill will be on duty on Friday, Saturday and Sunday of each week throughout the summer and fall and will give our community added patrols and calls for service response. bill is a twenty-five year veteran of the Phoenix Police Department and brings a great deal of knowledge and experience to this job. |
