Library
Established in 1993, the library is located at 417 Old Rim Road in the Chevelon Butte School building. Under the direction of Cheryl Rife, the library is composed of over 12,000 books, dvd’s and videos. Patrons may access the internet by using one of the six public computers or can log-on with their laptop via the 24/7 wireless connection. The library hosts many different activities during the year including summer kids’ activities, holiday parties and fundraisers. For those of you who have never visited the library before, come on in and check it out. You’ll be quite impressed.
ADOPT-A-MARINE-PROGRAM
In July, 2008, the Forest Lakes Library “adopted” a marine. His name is SSGT. Derrick Stephenson and he is currently serving a tour of duty in Iraq. Derrick trains Iraqi Generals’ staff and puts in many long, hard hours every day. While Derrick is in Iraq, we will be sending care packages to him. Donations of any of the items on the following list would be appreciated:
1. Snacks: beef jerky, gum, nuts, candy, etc.
2. Mach 3 razors
3. Icy-hot
4. Mioplex protein bars
5. Starbucks coffee
6. Toiletries: Shampoo, toothpaste, etc.

Forest Lakes Community Church
YOU ARE CORDIALLY INVITED to WORSHIP each Sunday beginning May 18 and continuing
through September 28. Services are held in the Forest Lakes Library from 10 a.m. –11 a.m. Child-care is provided. Each Sunday a ‘guest pastor’ teaches from the Bible, helping us understand its
relevance for our contemporary lives. These pastors (a different one each week) are all committed to the Apostles Creed. It is a privilege and spiritually enriching to be led by so many different shepherds.
Forest Lakes Community Church is a volunteer, non-denominational church dedicated to providing A PLACE FOR COMMUNITY WORSHIP for all who find themselves in the Ponderosa Forest during the summer.
